"An expression of how depression and anxiety truly feel, and the excruciation of existing with mental illness that is daily life. Through equating mental pain to tangible, visceral examples of physical pain I hope to communicate to those who cannot understand just how debilitating of a pain depression is.
Not only is mental illness sorely under-discussed and under-represented in art, but specifically depression and anxiety in women, and how that intersects with sexual and romantic identities. These are portrayals of honesty, vulnerability and pain."
